True African’s PAYLEO platform creates a unique payment code known as Till Number or Merchant ID. This number allows a customer to pay from their MTN or Airtel Money wallet. With a universal merchant Id , we eliminate the need to deal with different telecoms for different users. This system and business process has been piloted and refined for the market. Currently there are about 1000 merchants mostly retail and restaurants using it for collections with a sharp growth trend. An online portal will be provided to the merchant/business to be able to received transactions. This is on top of the SMS payment notifications the merchant receives. The portal provides real time transactions for the merchant to view only and also know how much they have collected. It is a view only but with capabilities to process reports to download.
